"plus one" --- the perfect words that describe this specific day of the year. Another 365 days had passed and here i am ecstatically celebrating my 25th year.

in contrast to the previous years where i usually spent my birthday by constantly enduring the frequent request of my friends for a treat. I decided, this year will be different from the former years... it will be a grand kicked off for another year of life.
So after a grueling brainstorming.. we settled for a magnificent island in Central Visayas. My Bf and I booked tickets for 3 and planned for a three day vacation to Bohol.
Bohol is a little island paradise in the southern Philippines. The most notable among the tourist attractions in Bohol is Chocolate Hills. However, there are more reasons why one should visit Bohol. The many activities and places to see is enough to make visitors see the place as a sanctuary for a lot of nature's beauty. *
Our flight to Bohol was scheduled for 9:20, we settled for Zest Air since they offer the cheapest airfare. i took a gamble trusting Zest Air, eventhough there are quite a few negative feedbacks drawn by this airline. Luckily on our experience, there are NO major setbacks during our flight, it was right on time and we never experience any turbulence, thanks to the good weather ofcourse!

an hour and 15 minutes later we arrived at Tagbilaran Airport, 10:55am to be exact after we scooped our bags, found the hotel representative waving piece of paper of my name and then off we go to Alona Beach in Panglao Island. I forgot our driver's name but he was very friendly and informative. As he drive across the city Tagbilaran, he shared with us the must to know in order to survive Bohol.

It took us roughly 40 minutes to arrive at our destination, as the car entered Alona Beach we are at awe with the beauty that unfold us. Alona Beach is 1/2 kilometer stretched of pristine white sand. It is located on the south west part of Pangalao Island, compared to Dumaluan Beach, we opted to stay here in Alona because of the proximity to restaurants, dive shops and other business center.
it was almost noon when we halted and checked in inLost Horizon, we reserved a modern deluxe room for 2895/day. it was a good catch since the damages will be divided into three, not bad for 3 thrifty pips. we were ushered in our room located on the third floor. the room was beautiful, I immediately checked the bathroom and it was ok, it was clean and thankfully the hot and cold shower works (in contrast to some review i've read). we also have a majestic view of the Alona's shore and the hotel's poolside, in addition to that it was equipped with a cable lcd tv, so it was really a good catch.

the anticipation and excitement left us hungry, so after washing up we decided to try Trudi's Place a resto cum convenient store just a few blocks from our hotel. The food in Trudis was exeptionally good and surprisingly it was cheap. We ordered 5 servings of rice, sinigang na hipon, buttered chicken, chopsuey, and 1.5 coke, yet the total bill was only 500+.
after our sumptous feast, we planned our itenerary and decided to go on a half day "island hopping" tour, along our walk on Alona beach we were approached by some bangkeros and being really good hagglers we made a deal with kuya jun 1200php for balicasag and virgin island.we choose not to do the "dolphin watching" since the three of us our really bad waking up so early in the morning (the tour leaves at 5am).we aslo rented 3 snorkeling gears for 150/pax. upon finalizing the deal we hurriedly went back to our room did a quick change and applied some spfs.
